Upper Mustang trek is exceptional because of the beautiful remote area, and is also referred to herein as the "desert of the Himalayas". The villages are authentic and almost the same as in the 14th century. Many influences of Tibetan culture are felt in the daily lives of the people. Along the way you can also see a large Buddha statue made of sand. There is still a king with a ceremonial function that is very respected in the Mustang region. His palace you can admire Lo Manthang.
This is a trekking with overnight stay in lodges. We take domestic flight twice during the trek.
In the Upper Mustang region is little or no rain because it is located in the "rain shadow" of the Himalayas. Ideal during the summer months.
This area requires a special, more expensive permit. This large influx of tourists is avoided and the beautiful nature and culture better preserved. So you can be sure of a quiet trek. From our side we therefore ask the necessary respect for the culture and the local population.
Boudhanath stupa and Pashupatinath is visited during the city visits. Both great and important shrines which is annually visited by thousands of pilgrims. Boudhanath is a Buddhist stupa and the center of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu. Pashupatinath is a Hindu cemetery and temple, also known as "The Temple of Living Beings. Both religions go hand in hand.Bhaktapur is a rather quiet town in the Kathmandu valley, protected world heritage site and famous for its pottery and carvings.
