Description of the trip:
After a short acclimatization time in the vibrant capital Kathmandu, we are heading towards Pokhara and the Annapurna mountain range.
In Pokhara nearby the Fewa-lake, you will be close to the mountains. On clear days, views at the surrounding green hills and the Himalayan peaks, are spectacular.
One of the most spectacular mountain ranges in the Himalayas is the Annapurna massif. A short mountain flight takes you over the Annapurnas to Jomsom, from where the trekking tour starts.
Upper Mustang is also called the “desert of the Himalayas” because of its specific fauna and flora. It rarer rains here, not even during the yearly monsoon.
The villages are authentic and almost the same as in the 14th century. Many influences of Tibetan culture can be found in the daily way of living.
There is still a king with a ceremonial function who is highly respected in the Mustang area. You can admire his palace in Lo Manthang.
This is a trek with overnight stays in trekkers lodges (sometimes very basic accomodation, shared bathrooms).
This remote area requires a special, more expensive permit (included in your tour price). This avoids a large tourist influx and preserves the beautiful nature and culture. We therefore emphasize our request to respect the culture and the local people.
A good basic physical condition is required. Experience in mountain hiking is not necessary.
The transportation on this trip is : private car, domestic flights and 1x a tourist bus.
You are free to choose whether you want a porter to carry your luggage or not.
In the cities both culture and leisure time are possible (Hindu temples, Buddhist stupa, shopping, restaurants, etc.).
