There is a good reason why the Everest Base Camp trek is famous. This region, at the foot of the highest mountain in the world, offers a breathtaking natural beauty and views.
The Everest region is located northeast of Kathmandu. You do not need any climbing experience because we stay on the hiking trail.
This is a challenging trek for which a good basic health and fitness is required. Experience in mountain hiking is not needed.
We overnight in lodges (with minimum comfort) along the trekking trail.
If required, we can cater for you to have a longer stay in Nepal before or after the trip, or you can travel to another place from Kathmandu.

Itinerary

29 Sep
Your arrival at Kathmandu airport: you will be picked up and brought to your hotel in Kathmandu.
Free day in the capital. (Kathmandu durbar square is at walking distance of your hotel)

Guided visit to Boudhanath & Pashupatinath, two important holy shrines, as an introduction to Buddhism and Hinduism.

You will be picked up at your hotel for the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2804m).
The trip starts from Lukla: about 3 hours walking to Phakding (2610m).

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m) in approximately 5.5 hours of walking.

Rest day for acclimatization in Namche Bazaar.

Trek uphill from Namche Bazaar to Tangboche (3860m) – approx. 5 hours

Walk to Dingboche (4410m) – approx. 5.5 hours

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuje (4910m) in about 5 hours

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5363m) and back to GorakShap (5153m) – approx. 7 hours

Trek to the wonderful viewpoint at Kalapathar (5545m) and then to Thukla (4620m) for overnight stay.
Approx. 5 hrs hike today.

On the way back, the trek (mainly downhill) from Thukla to Phortse (3810m) takes approx. 6 hours of hiking.

We walk from Phortse to Namche Bazaar in about 4 hours

We walk to Lukla (approx. 7 hours) and spend the night there.

Domestic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu and transportation to our B&B at the countryside (Dadhikot).
End of the trek.

€1620 per person*
* Price per person only valid on the date mentioned in 2020 ; for the services of a porter you pay an additional € 357 for the entire trek ; departure guaranteed from 2 participants on.
Trekkers are free to carry their own luggage, or hire a porter at the extra cost mentioned above. Every porter carries up to max. 12 kg of customers’ baggage.
