The Kanchenjunga mountain range in far eastern Nepal is situated on the border with India (Sikkim). It is the 3rd highest mountain in the world with peaks of around 8500m high. The name Kanchenjunga is Tibetan and literally means “5 peaks”.
This tour, which is not very touristy but breath-taking, will introduce you to different landscapes, views and cultures, including Limbu and Tibetan culture.
Lodges (minimum comfort) are available throughout the entire route (for a limited number of trekkers).
Transport to the starting point of the trek and back to the capital after your trek is an experience in itself (combination of domestic flight with a long jeep ride).
This heavy trek (walking up to 5200m) is only suitable for people with a flexible attitude, sense for adventure, and good health and fitness. Experience in mountain hiking is an advantage.
