This group tour with trekking to the Nar and Phu valleys is the ultimate journey for those seeking authenticity. It is recommended for whom the capital city of Kathmandu has already been seen and who doesn’t need luxury while on traveling.
By means of a Himalayan trek from lodge to lodge, you explore the remote, rough valleys of Nar and Phu. This area has only been open to tourists since 2003, and since then it has not been a much visited region.
We leave for our hike at Koto, a village at the Annapurna Circuit. There you go through forests, rocky areas, cliffs, villages and via countless Buddhist chortens to the Nar and Phu valleys, both villages located at about 4000m altitude.
It is an adventurous trek where an introduction to “the real Nepal” is assured. Crossing the Kangla pass (5320m) makes it completely worthy. The last 2 days we follow the Annapurna Circuit in opposite direction.
Overnight stays in trekkking lodge are with minimum comfort and 1x in a Buddhist monastery. Mountain hiking experience is not required, but a good health and fitness are necessary.
At the beginning and the end of the journey, a visit to the cultural towns of Patan and Bhaktapur is included.
