Culture and religion are thoroughly explored in Patan and Kathmandu. where also Boudhanath stupa and Pashupatinath will be visited. Both great and important shrines annually visited by thousands of pilgrims. Boudhanath is a large Buddhist stupa and the center of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu. Pashupatinath is a Hindu cemetery and temple, also known as The Temple of Living Beings. Both religions go side by side.
In Chitwan National Park you have the opportunity to discover the jungle by elephant back safari, from a wooden canoe or during a jungle hike. This park on the border with India ensures the protection of the endangered Bengal tiger, rhinoceros, crocodiles, bears, snakes, deer, numerous species of birds, etc.
A 2-days minitrek will give you the feeling of a real Himalaya-hike. Paths across an impressive scenery lead to a mountain trekkers lodge, where you will spend one night, before heading back to the city on the next day.
In Pokhara, Sarangkot and Bandipur you are close to the mountains and clear weather will give you a fantastic view at the Himalayan peaks and surrounding hills.
Every one joining with an adventurous attitude, can enjoy this trip with varied means of transportation (from a domestic flight to a one-time local bus experience) and accommodation (from a local homestay to a beautiful hotel) to discover Nepal.
This journey can be made all year round, tough summer (monsoon season) might be cloudy and wet.
Itinerary

Day 1 : Patan
Arrival in Kathmandu. Airport pick-up and transfer to the traditional Newari hotel in Patan.

Day 2: Patan - Kathmandu
Guided city visit Patan in the morning. In the afternoon visit Swayambunath (the monkey temple), and transfer to the hotel in Kathmandu. The hotel is located nearby Thamel and has a wonderful, big and quiet garden.

Day 3: Free day in Kathmandu
Free day in Kathmandu (suggestion: visit to the morning market, durbar square and Thamel)

Day 4: Kathmandu - Bandipur
Today a 5 hours drive by tourist bus from Kathmandu to Dumre, passing villages and cities, mountains and rivers, fields and forests.
The last 10 km will be done by car, to reach in an ancient mountain village, called Bandipur. Enjoy the views and a free afternoon.

Day 5: Bandipur - Pokhara
Free morning to discover more of Bandipur. Approx. 2 hours in the tourist bus are left, to reach Pokhara in the afternoon.

Day 6: Pokhara
Our guide will show you the World Peace Pagoda on a nearby hilltop.
A short trip with a rowing boat to cross the lake, in combination with an uphill hike (about 2 hrs) , will bring you there.

Day 7: Pokhara - Panchase Bhanjyang
Begin of the 2-days minitrek: 1 hr by car and then hike to Panchase Bhanjyang. (approx 6 hrs hike)
Overnight in a trekkers lodge. (minimum comfort)

Day 8: Panchase Danda - Pokhara
Morning hike to Panchase Danda for a great view of the Himalayas, afterwards downhill hike and bus to Pokhara.
Rest at the hotel.

Day 9: Free day in Pokhara
Free day in Pokhara. Take your time to enjoy this city nearby Fewa Lake: you can go boating at the lake, rent a bicycle, go souvenir shopping, enjoy a massage, visit the mountaineering museum, and so much more.
Who wants to try a tandemflight paragliding? Book in advance for this unique experience!

Day 10: Pokhara - Chitwan
We leave Pokhara and take the tourist bus to Chitwan, the national jungle park at the Indian border.
This jungle trip will be guided by local nature guides with overnight in a jungle lodge in Meghauli.

Day 11: Chitwan
Discovering Chitwan National Park, together with the local guides.
Activities are: (in no particular order)

- elephant bath
- Tharu cultural show
- bird watching

Day 12: Chitwan - Dadhikot
Last jungle activity, and domestic flight to Kathmandu, where we meet our guide for today.
The guide will show you Pashupatinath (Hindu temple and cemetery ) and Boudhanath (Buddhist stupa and monasteries).
Overnight in Dadhikot at the country side.

Day 13: Dadhikot - Balthali
Today we turn away from mainstream tourism, and travel for 2 days as the locals. Together with our guide we take the local bus to Khopasi (total around. 2 hours). From here a short hike (around 40 mins.) to a home stay in the picturesque village Balthali.
After lunch exploration of the village and surroundings.

Day 14: Balthali - Namobuddha
Day excursion : walk (approx. 2 hrs) to Buddhist monastery Namobuddha for a visit, and back to Balthali.
Namobuddha is located in the green hills, with a view over the surrounding forests, fields and small villages.
The monastery is a well maintained beautiful places, where still hundreds of Buddhist monks are studying or coming for a pilgrimage or retreat.

Day 15: Namobuddha - Dadhikot
A short hike (40 min.) and bus to Panauti, to visit the Newari town Panauti.
Afterwards transport to Dadhikot, back to the bed & breakfast for the last 2 nights of our trip.

Day 16: City visit (bhaktapur)
Today an excursion with city visit.
We hike with the guide about 1,5 hrs, passing villages and fields, before we reach Bhaktapur. The guide shows you the highlights of this royal city loaded with beautiful architecture and history.
Hike back to Dadhikot.

Day 17: Departure
Free day.
Transport to the airport for your international departure.
