The Tamang Heritage Trail takes you to the authentic Tamang culture in the Langtang area.
This is perfect to get acquainted with trekking in the Nepalese Himalayas. The level of the trek is light to medium. You get all aspects for a perfect trek: beautiful nature, splendid views, authentic villages, rice and grain on terrace construction and an immersion in the Tamang culture.
It is the perfect choice for people looking for a trek away from mass tourism.
All overnight stays are in trekkers lodges (minimum comfort). The trek can be combined with a trek in Langtang and / or around Gosainkunda.
All seasons are fine for this trek. The most optimal months are from 2nd week of September to begin of December and February to end of April.
Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu - Syabrubesi
Start of your trek; Around 7 hrs travel in local bus from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1503m)

Day 2: Syabrubesi - Gatlang
Around 6-7 hrs hike to Gatlang (2238m)

Day 3: Gatlang - Thambuchet
Hike without luggage to Parvati lake ( chance to visit cheese factory on the way ). Back to Gatlang for lunch and trek around 2 hrs downhill to Thambuchet (1810m)

Day 4: Thambuchet - Gonggang
Trek to Tatopani(2607m) in around 6hrs via Gonggang.

Day 5: Gonggang - Thuman
Passing through viewpoints of Nagthali(3165m) we hike to Thuman (2338m) inaround 6 hrs.

Day 6: Thuman - Bridim
Crossing mighty Bhote Koshi river we hike to Bridim(2229m) in around 3 hrs.

Day 7: Bridim - Syabrubesi
In about 5 hrs we return to Syabrubesi ( our start point of trek).

Day 8: Syabrubesi - Kathmandu
Local transportation (minivan/ jeep) from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu or Bhaktapur as desired.

Price Details
Prices – valid for your trek in 2024
€723 per person (on the basis of 2 persons).
The price for a single person is €835.
Groups from 3 to 5 persons : €643 per person.
Groups from 6 to 9 persons : €604 per person.
Ask for your price via info@treknepal.be when you have more than 9 participants in your group.
The service of a porter will cost you €192 for the full trek and he/she will carry max. 12kg. Guests who choose to carry their own luggage, don’t pay for this extra cost.
