Shey Phoksundo Trek
Before Booking a Trip
Trip Map
Quick Inquiry
This trek is a short, less demanding trip in the Lower Dolpo area, and can be done with overnight stays in lodges. It is perfect for those who want to get to know this exclusive region, but prefer not to camp.
The Dolpo region is remote, unspoilt and has something mysterious about it. You can, among other things, get to know the Bön-Po religion (precursor of Buddhism) in the many villages and old monasteries. The fantastic Phoksumdo lake is the highlight of the trek. In general, nature is similar to that of the Tibetan plateau. We ask for extra attention here for the environment, to protect the vulnerable fauna and flora and to preserve the old culture.
This trek can be done throughout the year. More risk of flight cancellation in the monsoon season (June – Sep).
Due to the irregular flights to / from the area, it is necessary to keep 3 to 4 spare days in mind (before and after your trek)!
