The Langtang Gosainkunda trek takes place in the National Park north of Kathmandu.
On this journey you will explore the area of Tamang people. During the trek you have a fantastic view on the Langtang Himalayan Range (with peaks up to 7800M). Climbing up to Tsergo Ri (from Kyangin) 5033m, crossing the Laurebinayak pass and the beautiful sacred lakes of Gosainkunda are the highlights of this trek.
A good basic fitness and health are required for this Himalaya trek. Experience in mountain hiking is not needed.
Accommodation while on trekking is in basic trekkers lodges. You can choose (option) for the service of a porter to carry your luggage while on trekking.
Free days before and after the trek ensure you will have a journey according to your own wishes. City guides and / or transportation can be arranged for you on request.
Accommodation at the beginning and end of the trip is in a standard hotel/ guesthouse.

Day 1: Kathmandu
Arrival in Kathmandu – transfer to your hotel

Day 2 : Kathmandu
Free day to explore capital Kathmandu.
Optional guide for your city visit (Kathmandu, Patan as requested).

Day 3 : Kathmandu
Free day to explore Kathmandu and its surroundings.
City guide on request.
Today you will meet your trekking guide and make practical arrangements for your departure the next morning.

Day 4 : Kathmandu - Syabru Besi
Start of your trek :
Local bus from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi (1450m).

Day 5 : Syabru Besi - Lama Hotel
First hiking day from Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel (2380m).

Day 6 : Lama Hotel - Langtang
Hike from Lama Hotel to Langtang (3370m).

Day 7: Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa
A short hike from Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3750m).
In the afternoon there is free time and the possibility to visit the nearby cheese factory (local yak cheese) – only open in autumn.We will spend two nights in Kyangin.

Day 8: Kyangin
From Kyangin (without luggage) to the top of Tsergo Ri (5033m) for splendid views of the area, and back to your lodge in Kyangin.
People who don’t feel like hiking uphill here, can stay at the lodge or stroll around the valley.
A third option is the somewhat lower peak of Kyangin (4720m).trekkers lodge -
Day 9 : Kyangin Gompa - Lama Hotel
Hike back and mainly downhill from Kyangin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2380m), while savoring the impressive nature in this area.

Day 10 : Lama Hotel - Thulo Syabru
The path we follow today from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru, is going up and down alternately.
Thulo Syabru is situated at 2210m above sea level.

Day 11: Thulo Syabru - Sin Gompa
Start climbing again from Thulo Syabru towards the lakes.
Today’s hike goes upto Sin Gompa at 3254m.

Day 12: Sin Gompa - Gosainkunda
Enjoy the landscapes on the way from Sin Gompa to Gosainkunda.
The lodges and lakes of Gosainkunda are situated at an altitude of 4350m, surrounded by high snow capped peaks.
Hundreds of pilgrims will visit this holy place in August each year.Do not fear altitude sickness because you climbed into the Langtang valley just a few days ago.

Day 13 : Gosainkunda - Sin Gompa
There is some time for exploration of Gosainkunda ( “the sacred lakes”) in the morning.
Afterwards hike to Laurebina (3910m) or Sin Gompa, depending on the time, weather, fitness, etc.

Day 14: Sin Gompa - Dhunche
Last hike to Dhunche in around 4-5 hrs.
Overnight in Dhunche, a small town at the border of Langtang National Park.
Dhunche is situated at 2030m above sea level, and it is the administrative headquarter of Rasuwa district.

Day 15: Dhunche - Dadhikot
Drive together with the guide by local bus from Dhunche to Dadhikot: it will take a full day of adventurous driving through stunning landscapes on a bendy (sometimes bumpy) road – approximately 6 to 7 hours.
Dadhikot (at 1360m) is our own B&B at the countryside, nearby the city of Bhaktapur.

Price: (valid until the end of December 2022)
€ 1038 per person * on the basis of two persons
* The service of a porter (optional) costs € 270 extra for the full trek and he/she carries up to 12kg.
This trip can be booked for one person; ask for your price when there are more than two participants.
* Option: Kathmandu (Boudhanath and Pashupatinath) with guide is €55 per person (incl. entrance fee, transport, guide).
* Option: Patan with guide is €55 per person (incl. entrance fee, transport, guide).
* Option: Bhaktapur with guide is €45 per person (incl. entrance fee, transport, guide).
