Everest Region

The Khumbu area is generally known as the Everest region and is also the home of Sherpas, Mount-Everest and the mysterious Yeti. Your trekking experience would not be limited to Everest base camp but also places such as Namche Bazar, Lukla, Tyangboche, the Solukhumbu, the transition to the base of the Everest, views of the highest peak in the world, and to the Ama Dablam. Besides trekking and mountaineering, the Khumbu region is also well known for its Sherpa culture. By visiting this region, you get to be immersed in the Sherpa culture.

The Everest base camp trek goes from Jiri to Lukla. A flight to Lukla is the best option for those with limited time. It should be taken into consideration that the flight schedules depend on the weather conditions.

The Everest base camp trek is one of the most adventurous treks but there are also many other outstanding trekking routes throughout the Khumbu region.

The ideal season for this adventure is March to May or September to October. It’s also possible to have a good trek with less other tourists in this region in February, June, July, August and November. December and January are less suitable months for this region.
